Tips for Choosing a Wedding Dress in Raleigh
In many ways, your wedding dress is the centerpiece of the event, so plan to devote an entire day (or several) to finding the perfect one. Keep scrolling for more wedding dress buying tips.
- Start early. Many gowns take four to eight months to be created and shipped, and once it arrives, you still have to factor in more time for alterations and accessorizing.
- Expect strange sizing. Bridal sizing is different than normal sizing, so you’ll probably be dressed in a number that’s one or two sizes bigger than what you’re seeing.
- When in doubt, size up. If you’re torn between a size that’s a teensy bit too snug and one that’s too loose, choose the larger option. It’s much easier (and less expensive) to take in a dress than it is to let it out.
- Limit your crew.If you’ve ever tried to get a crowd to agree on where to go for dinner, you can imagine how hard it is to get five or six people to reach a consensus on a wedding gown. Narrow your companions down to the two or three people whose opinions matter most to you.
Last but not least, do your homework. You don’t want to waste valuable time at a shop that doesn’t carry what you’re looking for. Get referrals from friends and do online research to find the best Raleigh wedding dress stores. Or, check out our list below!
