How to Help Your Guests Find Amazing Accommodations in Raleigh
While your wedding guests will usually foot the bill for their own accommodations (unless you’re feeling extra-generous), your research and input helps make the process logistically easier and cheaper for everyone involved. Here are some of our top tips when booking wedding accommodations.
- Focus only on hotels that are located near your wedding venue—the closer, the better. Walking distance would be ideal; if that’s not possible, opt for a 10- or 15- minute drive.
- If there are no hotels that are within 15 driving minutes of your venue, you may want to consider booking transportation for your guests.
- Many hotels offer “room blocks”, a group of rooms that a hotel will reserve for your event’s guests only. Oftentimes, hotels will offer group discounts on these rooms, and as a bonus, your guests get to be housed close together. Note that your guests will still have to call and claim their room; the block reservation just means that no one else can.
- If possible, tour the hotel in person to make sure the rooms are of the quality you expect. Try to hit a medium between “nice” and “expensive.” Frugal or budget-strapped guests might resent having to shell out for a luxury hotel when a standard one would do. At the same time, you don’t want anyone to feel like they have been assigned to an unpleasant facility.
