A couple’s love for each other is arguably the most important part of any wedding, but the love the guests share for the newlyweds creates such a strong support system, makes the couple even more celebrated, and makes the wedding day that much more beautiful! Craig and Christen were, without a doubt, surrounded by love in their October wedding at the gorgeous Umstead.
Vintage elements combined with modern elegance to develop a romantic ambience that celebrated both the past and the future.
The ceremony was held on The Umstead’s expansive and stunning landscaped lawn. The natural greenery and bountiful floral arrangements made for an elegant outdoor ceremony, as Craig and Christen exchanged vows against a spectacular and serene backdrop surrounded by light blooms and fresh greenery. Wide stone pavers create a dramatic aisle-like pathway leading to the hotel’s private lake, surrounded by woodlands and accentuated with a dramatic fountain.
For the reception, guests moved to The Umstead’s gorgeous Grand Ballroom. The stunning space is filled with an abundance of natural light flooding in through floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake. Tables were dressing in white linens and topped with an abundance of greenery, floating tea lights, extravagant floral arrangements, and gold accents. Guests were treated to an assortment of desserts from fruit and key lime tarts to a multitude of macarons – but the most important dessert of course was Craig and Christen’s wedding cake! The couple’s single tier white cake was decorated with fresh greenery and topped with their names in gold calligraphy. After a night of celebrating, Craig and Christen departed from their loved ones under a shower of confetti. Cheers to the newlyweds!
